The continued pursuit to jam the government take over of the American health care system down our throats illustrates how far off and out of touch with The People the leadership of this country really is.
Most agree that health costs are high and insurance premiums are high and need to be addressed, but there are market force approaches which can be implemented that have no “requirement” that the government get involved in “taking over.” Two of the simplest (to say at least) are to open the insurance provider market to national, even global, competition. The restrictions on interstate insurance marketing cuff the hands of these companies from making their costs more competitive through volume of customers. This is perhaps the simplest modification to implement.
The next, of course, is Tort Reform. The fact that this administration does not want to take that on at all should tell you a lot about their motives. Malpractice insurance costs are huge impositions on a physician’s “business,” and it is a business, making it difficult to provide more cost effective service.
What is of more concern, however, is this administration’s insistence in fighting tooth and nail to get their hooks into yet another free market economic engine adding layers and layers of (their) cost (which they of course deny) at a time when the basic economic foundation of the country itself is in jeopardy.
When a great many citizens are out of work, big and small business closing at record levels, foreclosures at record levels, taxes at higher levels…these people put their attention toward creating yet more bureaucracy, debt increase and diminishing of economic service of a substantial industry the citizens count on.
It is obvious these people really do not care what happens to YOU (us), they are solely ingrained in their own legacy, control and catering to special interests (which was touted as not to be the case) at the expense of the citizenry.
Rather than solving the real problems at hand, this administration wants to capitalize themselves through the embellishment of “crisis” and further impact our economic distress instead of stabilizing the foundation.
The debt this administration is incurring (on our behalf?) is astounding in scope and scale and where do you think they expect the money to come from?… So before you go completely broke, don’t forget to set aside a few hundred grand to help the Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Schumer gang bronze up their legacies.
