To suggest any politician is lying about something is hardly a stretch of anyone’s imagination. However, it has risen to such an absurd level it is intolerable. I’m sure you recall the relentless diatribe about “Bush Lied!” That is all we heard for months and months and even more months. If telling the truth were a requirement to be a politician, no one could apply. I mean, come on…did Dick Cheney lie? OK, how about Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Joe Biden…? Are they liars? Of course not. (do I really need to add lol here?)
The stakes are very high. Government take over of our Health Care system is an American life and society changing event. These decisions absolutely have to be made based on the truths of the matters. For our president to stand in front of all of us promoting HIS health care take over plan posed as merely a reining in of the insurance industry (in a thousand pages or less) and denying the major features of the program which will completely alter our lives, economy and stability is an unconscionable display of deceit.
If these comments seem harsh and “untrue” to you, do some real homework of your own. Ask yourself what really makes sense here. Does it really make sense to you that to make sure the 12 to 15 million citizens (not 47,000,000) presently not covered with health insurance do get coverage, we need to re-organize the entire health care system? Do you really think that’s what this whole thing is about?
Their plan does include major increases in cost and debt to posterity. It does include our paying for health care access to non-citizens. It does include the inevitability of “rationing” the type of care made available to seniors and the general populace as well. And it does include for the systematic demise of the private health coverage industry (meaning you won’t end up with the plan you have now and you will be integrated into the government health care program).
I really don’t know about you, but that is not what I want. And I surely don’t want it pushed on me through a veil of lies. Do you?
In closing I just want to say, “Way to go, Joe!”
