As the news of a bottoming in the recessional spin we have been in for months gets touted by the mainstream news purveyors, it is a good time to remind ourselves what makes our “free enterprise” economy free. Free that is to be open for all to participate in: All to make or break or break even in.
Included in yesterday’s thoughts that the private sector is possibly as culpable along with the government for the latest economic “crash” doesn’t preclude that the private sector will be the engine which will raise the Phoenix again to prominence. That is if the government will get out of the way and let, even support, free enterprise to do so.
Jobs come from free market entrepreneurs (small and big business) which should have become obvious to all as of late. Look at all the businesses that have gone out of business in this recession. It not only represents the loss of the many jobs that were “there,” but jobs that now won’t be there also when the economy starts lifting again.
It will be up to enterprising people creating products and business start-ups who will need employees to help produce the products or service they have embarked upon. As much as it seems this administration would like everyone to be “working for the government,” it is instead their place to help independent business grow, or at least stay out of the way.
Regulation for reasons of public safety and fraud “control” are of course required. The degree beyond that the government restricts business needs to be held in check. We should all be paying attention to what these government “goons” are cooking up (behind our backs) and speak out where necessary. Jobs depend on it.
